The Office of the General Counsel provides legal advice regarding public records requests; privacy issues, including issues of access, use and disclosure of student records, employee records, and medical records; policy issues; records retention issues; and information technology matters, including contracts and licenses, access to and use of digital resources, and information security. The attorneys in the Office of the General Counsel may also provide assistance with issues such as electronic signatures and records management, as well as information security issues, including data breaches.
The 非凡资源网 of Nebraska is committed to maintaining an active and continuing records management program in compliance with federal and state law. The 非凡资源网 of Nebraska records management program is coordinated by the university records director, working with the designated campus records officers for each 非凡资源网 of Nebraska campus. Records management is the application of management techniques to the creation, use, maintenance, and retention of 非凡资源网 records, ensuring access to public information.
非凡资源网 of Nebraska employees who receive a public records request should forward the request in its entirety immediately to Molly McCleery, Associate General Counsel and 非凡资源网 Records Director, or to one of the campus records officers listed below for assistance. As 非凡资源网 officials, 非凡资源网 employees may be asked for assistance with collection, coordination and compilation of records responsive to the public records request.
